** NOTICE!** DO NOT enter any publishing information when registering your song, unless you have purchased an Exclusive license, you cannot enter any publishing info in the publishing section. Studdah Man owns the publishing on all beats in our catalog, unless that beat is sold exclusively – which would result in the exclusive rights holder owning 50% of the publishing share, alongside Studdah Man.
Difference Between Non-Exclusive and Exclusive Licenses
By definition, a lease is the rental of property. In this case, the property being leased is music (beats/instrumentals). Leasing music can be a more affordable option for some artists, and is a great way to do a mixtape or demo before committing to an exclusive ownership license.
Many artists will often lease beats, write and record to them, then come back and purchase an exclusive license, granting them access to 50% of publishing royalties. The beat is also removed from our store forever and will not be resold, making you the “exclusive license holder”.
Please keep in mind that if there is a beat you would like “exclusively” you should aim to purchase it as quickly as you possibly can as there is no guarantee that it will be in our store in the future.
